Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
It is the player's initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since that period of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.
The player's retrieving strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
The opponent saved four initial chances in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
